Description

Quill Barbed Suture Monoderm 2-0 is a synthetic absorbable monofilament suture designed for secure soft tissue approximation. The suture measures 30X30 cm and is undyed to minimize tissue visibility in aesthetic and delicate surgical applications. It is equipped with a DE-14 Reverse Cutting needle, which has a 3/8 circle curvature and a length of 26 mm.

The helically arrayed barbs along the suture distribute tension evenly across the wound, eliminating the need for interrupted sutures or knot tying. This self-anchoring mechanism enhances wound closure stability by reducing tissue slippage and promoting uniform approximation. The bidirectional design allows the suture to be secured from both ends, enabling two surgeons to work simultaneously.

Constructed from Monoderm, a rapidly absorbable material, the suture provides initial tensile strength while gradually degrading through hydrolysis. The absorption process occurs over a predictable period, making it suitable for tissues requiring short-term support. The monofilament structure reduces tissue drag and minimizes inflammatory response, contributing to enhanced patient recovery.
