Coated Vicryl Plus Antibacterial Suture, Undyed Braided, SH-1 Needle, Size 4-0, 27" is an absorbable, synthetic suture designed for optimal wound closure. The suture is composed of Polyglactin 910, a copolymer of glycolide and lactide, which provides reliable tensile strength and controlled absorption. The antibacterial coating contains Irgacare MP (triclosan), which has been demonstrated in vitro to inhibit bacterial colonization against common surgical site pathogens, including Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, MRSA, and MRSE.

This suture features a braided structure that enhances handling properties, ensuring smooth passage through tissue while minimizing trauma. The undyed composition makes it particularly suitable for applications where minimal visibility is desired. The SH-1 needle, a 1/2 circle taper point design, facilitates precise suturing in soft tissues, reducing the risk of tissue tearing or excessive trauma.

The suture maintains 75% of its initial tensile strength at two weeks post-implantation, decreasing to 50% by three weeks, and is completely absorbed between 56 and 70 days. This controlled absorption profile supports effective wound healing while eliminating the need for suture removal.
